The Dreamer – Daylani Santos Rollich
Diagnosed at the early age of 28, Daylani Santos Rollich learned quickly how hard it was to live with such a horrible affliction and to do so as a young woman. Having had to face not only the obstacles brought on by the disease itself, but also the hardships brought on by the significant lack of information and resources for women her age with breast cancer, Daylani dreamt of one day starting her own organization that would fill the gaps. It was her dream to reach out to other young women whose lives have been interrupted by breast cancer. On October 13th, 2005, her 32nd birthday, her dream came into fruition in the form of the Beautiful Day Foundation.

The Head Honcho – Christiaan Rollich
As Daylani’s husband, Christiaan Rollich fought alongside her in her battle against breast cancer. Having been faced with the challenges of finding support and resources for a man in his twenties whose wife had breast cancer, he, too, knows first hand how difficult it can be to deal with this disease at a young age. Being exposed to the world of medicine and science for almost 5 years, Christiaan was inspired to become a more active part of it. He is now an Emergency Medical Technician, having received his training from UCLA’s School of Prehospital Care. He hopes to carry on the work his wife started as the President of the Beautiful Day Foundation.

The Go-to-Guy – Josh Litter
At the tender age of 16, Josh Litter’s mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Helping her through a year of chemotherapy, as well as through genetic studies and surgeries, Josh learned a great deal about cancer in a short period of time. As one of Daylani’s closest friends, he became aware of the difficulties a young adult can face due to the gaps in the resources and information available specifically for young adults and breast cancer. He plans to help fill in those gaps by incorporating his personal and professional experiences into his role of Secretary of the Beautiful Day Foundation.

The Banker – Daynabelle Santos
As Daylani’s sister, Daynabelle Santos is all too familiar with the issues brought on by this disease. As an emergency department registered nurse with a background in oncology, Daynabelle meets people from all walks of life living with this affliction day in and day out. As a young woman herself, she, too, hopes to reach out to other young women affected by breast cancer. She plans to accomplish this not only by being the Treasurer of the Beautiful Day Foundation, but also by utilizing the education she received from USC’s Baccalaureate Nursing Program.
